Naomi Stannard Fibre Artist
I am a Fibre Artist based in the beautiful Milverton, Somerset. I use fleece and fibres from our own herds of Huyaca Alpacas and various breeds of Rare Breed Sheep, that we breed on our family run smallholding. We are known locally as Spring Grove Alpacas and Rare Breeds. You can find our page on Facebook.
My passion for Fibre Art came about by having the abundance of beautiful fleeces from my animals to inspire me. That seconded with my love and understanding of animals, I try to carry across and express the characters in my work. I create Bespoke Commissions of Fibre Art and was recently featured and competed on Channel 4's Kirstie Allsop's Handmade Britain.
I aso run Needle Felting classes also, which combines a farm visit and meeting the animals with which you will be working with the fibres from. To me it is important to have that connection with the fibre you are using and understand where it has come from
If you are interested in seeing any of my work then please feel free to contact me and we can hatch a plan!! Anything is possible!!
My passion for the animals also bridges over into my love and knowledge of photography and I can also carry out commission animal portrait photography. Examples of my work can again be seen on our facebook page in the albums section.
Thankyou for taking the time to read my profile xx Naomi
