Birdwood House / Event / Ben Yates ~ Photo Cubism

For the last 5 years Ben has sought to bring new facets and methods to the art of photography, namely his Photo-Cubism - photos mounted 3-dimensionally over a structure of blocks, which draw the viewer's eye around the contruction in an exploration of the subject. This will be Ben's forth solo show at Birdwood, so he has planned some other diversions of his innovations in photography. There will be a travel book detailing two tours around Europe with a theatre company, a hands-on Photo-Cubist Puzzle, and another project that has been in the making since 2004 - a photographic deck of cards. Also on show will be Ben's 'Electri-Cities' - cityscapes made from recycled circuit boards and other electronic components contained inside acrylic and glass coffee tables, as well as a new development of the Electri-City that hangs on the wall.
