Walking Distance visual artist commission, Dorchester, Dorset
An artist commission has arisen to deliver site-specific research, a temporary commission and a series of small permanent public art commissions in Dorchester, Dorset.
The aim of the project is to explore and heighten the walking experience for pedestrians in the town centre, and will be delivered through working in partnership with Dorchester Business Improvement District and Dorset County Council Highways team.
Ginkgo Projects are working on behalf of Dorset Wildlife Trust, the N3 project steering group and Dorset Design and Heritage Forum on the project, which is part of N3: Nature Network Neighbourhood, a programme of six creative projects focusing on developing innovative creative responses in the public realm in Dorset.
There is a total budget for the project of £16,000 exc VAT + £500 expenses. This includes a £1,500 budget for delivery of the temporary commission and £10,000 for the delivery of the permanent commission.
