I use Indian ink and watercolour washes to create images of people, animals and places.

I studied art history at the Courtauld Institute of Art, but tended to always prefer the preliminary drawings to the finished piece. I then discovered illustrators like Charles Doyle, William Heath Robinson and Arthur Rackham. If I get stuck on a drawing I tend to think 'What would Quentin Blake do?'

Recent work includes illustrating The Emerald Dragon and Other Magical Tales from the Quantock and Blackdown Hills by Clare Viner, which is available from Brendon Books in Taunton and Waterstones Taunton or order one from me directly.
