Word Command Returns, Bigger and Better!

Word Command Returns, Bigger and Better!

After a bit of a break with so many other things happening at Epicentre Book Cafe lately, we proudly bring you a revamped Word Command evening of Spoken Word.

Working with another promoter, we've managed to get the word of what's happening in Torbay to reach well beyond the area and we have some pretty big names in the world of performance poetry heading down to Epicentre!

This month's headliner is Dean Atta, winner of the Spirit of London Award for 'Achievement through the Arts'. commissioned to write poems for Damilola Taylor Trust, Keats House, London Transport Museum, National Portrait Gallery, Tate Britain and Tate Modern. Featured on TV, radio and online platforms, such as BBC 1Xtra, Radio 4 and BBC 6 Music, BET, Channel 4, Colourful Radio, Cut The Chat, Community Channel, Grime Daily, Manorlogz, PinBoard Blog, SB.TV, Solar Radio and Resonance FM. Invited to perform everywhere, from the Roundhouse to City Hall, Hackney Empire to the Houses of Parliament, his words know no limits!

The show will also feature Stuart May, Richard Thomas, Robert Garnham, and Lucy Lepchani, with your hosts Bryce Dumont and I Am A Cereal Killer.

The doors open at 7.30, it all kicks off at 8, and tickets cost £5.

Come along for your only change so far to see such a world class performer in Paignton!
