Exhibition Assistant, South West Heritage Trust
We are seeking an organised and skilled technician to support the Somerset Rural Life Museum Re-development Project and key heritage projects run by the South West Heritage Trust.
The Somerset Rural Life Museum, Glastonbury, is undergoing a £2.3 million re-development which is due to be completed in the spring of 2017. The project will create new learning and visitor facilities and refurbish the gallery displays throughout the site.
With previous work experience and skills in wood and metal work you will assist with the design and construction of permanent and temporary exhibitions including creative displays, object mounting and lighting for the South West Heritage Trust museums including the re-development of the Somerset Rural Life Museum.
The South West Heritage Trust is a charity which delivers a broad range of heritage services across Somerset and Devon. We are a growing organisation, founded on services that were previously delivered by Somerset and Devon County Councils. With a turnover exceeding £3 million, we manage and run three museums (including the Museum of Somerset), 2 Archives and Local Studies services and look after the historic environment in Somerset.
The job will be based at the Somerset Heritage Centre in Norton Fitzwarren, Taunton but the ability to travel across the County will be necessary.
