widdecombe in the moorCraig Long started painting in 2001 shortly after movin to Devon. Driven by his passion for the area he developed his strong and distinctive style, using a variety of mediums from oil to watercolour.
“I’m excited by detail and texture as well as light and form, but for me photo - realism is not
the aim, but rather an idealised or minds eye type of realism reflecting the elements that
make up a perfect moment.”
His originals have found homes in many collections both in the UK and abroad. His
work can also be found on a number of calendars, greeting cards and book covers.
Craig can regularly be seen demonstrating at the Ark Gallery alongside fellow Gallery owner Derek Hayward.
